Provant Health Coaching Manager Interviewed for National HR Publication

East Greenwich, RI – Provant health coaching manager Ken Reese is featured prominently in the October issue of Bloomberg BNA Human Resource Report. Provant is a national leader in workplace well-being solutions.

Reese was interviewed for the national magazine’s story on the dangers of sitting too much and on the ways in which companies can motivate and support sedentary employees to add movement into their workday.

The Human Resources Report story was inspired by an article in the August 2016 American Journal of Preventive Medicine that covered 54 studies which found that when sitting time is greater than three hours per day, it is responsible for nearly four percent of all-cause mortality, independent of physical activity. The AJPM article concluded that reducing sitting time plays an important role in active lifestyle promotion, which is an important aspect of premature mortality prevention.

Reese discussed the wide range of workplace well-being programs designs, activities, and incentives that employers can implement to encourage employees who sit most of the day to stand, stretch, and move every two to three hours, whether they work in an office or in a vehicle.

Reese earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania.  He has worked in health coaching at Provant for three years. Prior to joining Provant, he was a health coach with Wellness Coaches USA.
