Heather A. Provino
Chief Executive Officer

Heather is an exercise physiologist and sport psychologist who translated her passion for health into creating a company that is a proven industry leader of workplace well-being solutions across North America. Her leadership has shaped Provant's commitment to industry best practices in adherence to Six Sigma process management standards and the development of customized health and wellness programs that reduce employee health risks and build cultures of well-being. Prior to Provant, Heather spent more than a decade in the health promotion and management industry. She was responsible for the operation of wellness centers in New England and New York, and provided strategic development for wellness and rehabilitative services as a consultant.  Heather holds Master of Science degrees in Exercise Physiology and Sport Psychology. Heather is a member of the HERO Think Tank, a board member of the Founders Affiliate for the American Heart Association, as well as a member, and past board chairman, of the AHA's Southern New England chapter, and is a member of the executive leadership team for Go Red for Women. She has served as a wellness expert on three TEDMED Great Challenges panels on wellness in the workplace and in the community.

 

Mark Clermont 
President

Mark brings more than two and a half decades of progressive experience in corporate finance, management control, process transformation, and organizational development. Mark most recently served as CFO of UpToDate, Inc. a division of Wolters Kluwer, where he provided strategic and transformative leadership that enabled the company to become the global leader in point-of-care clinical decision support, helping clinicians in 150+ countries improve the practice of medicine. Previously, Mark held multiple leadership roles at Mercer Global Investments, a division of Marsh & McLennan Companies, PFPC, Inc. (now BNY Mellon), and First Data Corporation.Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in finance, accounting and management from the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Daniel Scanlon
Chief Innovation Officer

Dan provides strategic and tactical oversight of Provant’s innovation process for all programs, products and services. He is responsible for ensuring that Provant supports an innovation-friendly company culture that encourages improved solutions to meet clients’ and the evolving marketplace’s needs. Dan’s deep experience with Provant operations allows him to motivate new ideas, new market opportunities  and implement more effective processes. He has more than 20 years of experience building and managing the operations and product development of large businesses and start-ups. Prior to Provant, Dan managed operations for a commercial construction company with multiple facets of product delivery. He is a CPR instructor and a licensed EMT with a passion for health and well-being. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Dan is a licensed pilot, a runner, and an active member of the Rhode Island sailing community. He serves on the board of the Warwick Boys & Girls Club and is involved in the Greater Warwick Rotary Club.
 

Barbara Anketell 
Chief Operations Officer

Barbara has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a specialty in process re-engineering and operations redesign. She spent the early part of her career working with large third-party healthcare administrators and marketing companies. Most recently she was Director of Healthcare Operations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, one of the largest healthcare insurers in New England. At Provant, Barbara’s teams are responsible for the successful launch of new programs, and the identification and implementation of new systems and technology to improve infrastructure for Provant’s rapidly growing organization. Her teams also include Human Resources, Implementation, Client Management, Health Education and Coaching, Call Center, Portal Support and Incentive Support. Barbara is a cum laude graduate of Suffolk University in Boston, with Bachelor of Science degrees in Marketing Communications and Public Relations. She worked extensively under the tutelage of Deloitte Consulting in process reengineering as well as Camden Associates in designing high performing teams.

David Ashley, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer

David Ashley, MD, MBA, leads Provant's clinical teams with medical oversight on health strategy and all clinical practices. He oversees all custom wellness programs and services developed for employers and their employees nationwide. His 20 years of diverse medical practice includes primary care, military medicine, and emergency medicine. In addition to his role as Chief Medical Officer for Provant, Dr. Ashley is a practicing primary care physician who actively shares his expertise with the medical community through his responsibilities as President of the Rhode Island Academy of Family Physicians, Medical Director of the Department of Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Chief Flight Surgeon for the Rhode Island National Guard, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School.He is a fervent advocate of integrating true medical home models with current medical practices, as well as adoption and utilization of electronic medical records for better patient care. These strengths contribute to Dr. Ashley's success in the consumer-driven health care arena, including preventive medicine in the corporate sector. Prior to joining Provant, Dr. Ashley served as medical director of multi-physician practices. He holds certifications in ATLS, ACLS, and BLS. He is a graduate of Brown University's School of Medical and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Ashley is fluent in Spanish.

 

Thomas Basiliere 
Chief Information Officer

 
As Chief Information Officer, Tom has responsibility for Provant’s technology-related functions, including development of new capabilities that improve the impact of clients’ workplace well-being programs. Most recently, Tom spent seven years as vice president and chief information officer of Wolters Kluwers. In that role he was responsible for technology strategy for UpToDate, a tool that helps doctors make evidence-based decisions at the point of care, and was instrumental in developing the company’s mobile application strategy and team that brought UpToDate to the iPhone. Prior to that, Tom gained IT and business development experience and expertise at Deluxe Corporation, Fidelity Investments, Mellon Bank/The Boston Company and New England Business Services. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of New Hampshire.

Barbara Haydon
Chief Administrative Officer
Senior Vice President, Clinical Services

Barbara has more than 30 years of healthcare experience including clinical, research, rehabilitation, and wellness programs and services. She has worked in many facets of the health care system, including clinical service lines, National Institutes of Health supported research, risk management, and rehabilitation and wellness services. Barbara oversees Provant's onsite logistics and operations. She also is responsible for federal and state compliance and the clinical review of Provant's customized wellness programs. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Johnson and Wales University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Syracuse.
